Coronavirus update June 26th
West Herts sports club have been closely monitoring the ongoing situation and latest guidance from the government regarding the Covid-19 virus. We will continue to update the website with further information as and when it becomes available.
Subject to any change in Government policy, the Bar will re-open on 4 July at 12pm and
normal trading hours will be resumed. A detailed Risk Assessment has been undertaken and
some changes to the way the Bar operates will be implemented to control the risks to our
members and staff from Covid-19. These include a one way system in the bar, a queuing
system to order your drinks and fixed table and chair positions. Staff will wear face
coverings when they are not behind the Bar. The bar, as always, will be open to members
only. The only entrance to the Bar will be from the Patio. All members will be required to
sign in when they first enter the Bar. Hand sanitizer will be provided at entrances and at exits.
Toilets will be available for use by one person at a time. Tables will be available for up to 4
people inside and up to 6 (from the same household) or 4 (if not from the same household)
outside. We will be showing live sport on TV as usual.
All sporting sections at West Herts for the most part are beginning to open up in some way, in line with the advice of the relevant sporting body. The tennis club are allowing members on all courts, the cricket club are now allowing use of one cricket net lane inline with the social distancing guidelines. The tennis courts and cricket nets are only available to tennis and cricket members, the tennis club house remains closed other than for the use of toilets. The cricket section have now resumed matches in accordance with government guidelines.
